For all the airplane and aviation fans out there, here’s a simple mash-up of just a few minutes of the hours of Alaska aviation footage we’ve collected over the last few years.

As you probably already know, aircraft is an essential part of the Alaskan lifestyle and means of transportation. Not only does it get us to where we want to go, it gives us a chance to really appreciate the size and beauty of our great state.

I’ve been flying over Alaska a good part of my life, but if I had to choose one word to describe this corner of Alaska it would be EPIC. This is a place that’s obtainable for just about anyone, and the adventure options are incredible! There’s not a lot to say here, other than if you’re looking for that ultimate Alaska experience this park is for you.

This second part of our trip was with St. Elias Alpine Guides, and they took me beyond my expectations and any National Park experience I’ve pursued in my life. I hope this show we produced plants a seed and gets you out there to play a little.

On a personal note. I’ve found a place that has touched me beyond what I can articulate. This is a place I will return for years to come, perhaps a second home someday if I’m so blessed.

We recently returned from an amazing journey to McCarthy and Kennicott where we spent 3 days adventuring around the area. The drive into Wrangell – St. Elias National Park was truly spectacular and really not all that rough (if you don’t get in a hurry). More on this story coming in our next episode(s).

While in Valdez for our RV adventure, we spent a whole day taking in the Alaska aviation experience at the 2008 May Day Fly-In. This event is truly a unique experience for the pilots and fans of bush flying and real Alaska aviation. Pilots fly in from all around the country, pitch a tent under their wings and spend a weekend enjoying beach landings, flour bombing and STOL competitions. If you’re into flying at all, this is a must see event!
