Every image has a story at Exposure.so
“Create Beautiful Photo Narratives“, pretty much sums Exposure perfectly, although it had to be hard to leave out the word “Simply.”
When I first saw this website, a quote by Dorothea Lang came to mind – “Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” And for me, that “very instant” often has a bigger story I long to know, which is perhaps why I’m a filmmaker first.
Exposure.so may draw in a lot of photographers, but I hope to see the audience expand into a broader demographic, which especially includes education. As we speak I’m preparing for a summer project in rural Alaska, and I find this to be a perfect tool in teaching kids. (Stay tuned for more on that later.)
Overview of Exposure is as simple as the product itself.
Signup free, drag and drop your images, type in your narrative, publish! Every bit of the publishing process is as elegant and beautiful as the content you produce. Whether you’re publishing on your mobile device or desktop, this cross-platform friendly environment keeps it easy on the eyes and engaging for everyone.
Exposure is Free for your first 3 posts, $9/ month, or $99 / year with one month free. Paid accounts also gain access to premium services! This is a great deal, and to quote the team – “Far too many services start free in an effort to sign up as many users as possible, only to eventually surround your content with ads to try to keep the lights on.” Amen to that!
Published narratives that inspired my first post.
- ICELAND – https://bieber.exposure.so/iceland
- WINTER WHEELS – https://cgpsn.exposure.so/winter-wheels
- FOGRISE – https://june.exposure.so/fogrise
- (My own) CORDOVA – https://scottslone.exposure.so/cordova-alaska
On the note of discovery – I wish Exposure would add a feature to make it easier to discover other photo narrative publications. At the moment their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/exposure seems to be the best new content feed.
Love to know what you all think!
