Leatherman Giveaway
The giveaway is over.
Congratulations to Rich Fuller (@richcfuller) for being the lucky winner of the Leatherman Giveaway. Remember, don’t take your Leatherman to the airport!
Rich’s website: http://www.launchecommerce.com/
We’ve been talking to some great companies during 2009 that we’d love to work with including Leatherman. Our hope was to have Leatherman as a show sponsor and after a few calls to discuss advertising options they were kind enough to send us a few things to review. We received several samples of their new LED flashlights and knives which we have been using behind the scenes now for quite a while.
Leatherman is a venerable tool found on almost every Alaskan’s belt. In Alaska, “Leatherman” is synonymous for all multitools, a little bit like “Coke” is synonymous for every soft drink in some parts of the USA. One thing is for sure, we always have a Leatherman in our pockets or backpacks!
Scott sent out a Tweet a little while ago mentioning that we were planning to do another giveaway. Instead of making people sign up and fill out forms, we thought it would be great to get some direct feedback from you. Just make a simple video and tell us why you are interested in Leatherman.
Cut! Cut! Take Two.
To make things easier, we’re scratching the “submit your own video” in favor of the most simple way to spread the word. Just click the button below and Tweet about the giveaway. We’ll randomly pull a winner from the tweets! How easy is that? So, get to it…spread the word.
For those on Twitter, you do have to be a member of Twitter to play.
Here are the rules:
- Follow us on Twitter for the duration of the contest.
- Click the “Spread the word button” and Tweet the message to your followers.
- Leave a comment on this post that you have entered (for another chance to win).
Create a video, upload it to YouTube, Vimeo, Blip.tv or your favorite video site, and post a link to the video below in the comments.
What we want to know:
- How do you use your Leatherman?
- If you don’t have one, tell us what you would do with a new Leatherman.
- Do you have any Leatherman stories to tell?
We’ll choose the best video and send you the Leatherman Crater c55B knife and Serac S3 LED Flashlight.
The knife is 4 tools in one, but is narrow enough to fit right in your front pocket. I personally carry this knife every day, it replaced the larger Leatherman I used to carry. The Serac S3 is seriously bright enough to light up the DAY and comes in really handy when I drop my keys under the car seat. Keep your eyes peeled in future shows, you might even see the Leatherman at work during some of our outdoors shows this Fall.

Leatherman is made in the USA, not too far from Alaska.

*The contest ends on October 9, 2009, and the Leatherman gear will be shipped directly to the winner. We’ll post the winner’s name (with their permission) on Oct. 12, 2009.

I ’spread the word’ on twitter.
i don’t have a leatherman (yet) but I’d definitely make use of it. I’m not a huge camper (strike that, I hate camping, but for some reason i seem to find myself in a wilderness situation …tents, no toilets, and the like…at least once a year) but i know the leatherman knife would come in handy when i do!

Thanks for spreading the word! I keep the Leatherman in the car, plane and sometimes on me – but there’s always one around. Honestly I find I’m using it more than anything else to cut the impossible to open plastic packaging everything comes in these days! Now winter is approaching, I’m sure I’ll be using the light more too!

RT’d on twitter.
I bought one of the first Leatherman when they came out years ago. I’ve had several of the original model, usually ended up giving them away to folks that just needed it. I’ve used them outside while camping and I’ve used them inside on my job doing IT.
Since it’s a little darker out now (and I can’t see worth beans), I was carrying one on my belt Saturday that has a mini-light on the side of the case. The lights went out in the grocery store and that flash light was immediately there… Didn’t need to use it for long (dang generators), but it’s cool to know the Leatherman was there, yet again.

I still don’t have a Leatherman, but I’d carry one of them everytime I went to the woods, I bet it can be very handy.
And the LED Flashlight would be useful for my adventures in the woods at night.

I currently dont have a Leatherman but I have seen them used alot by my fellow Airsofters and hikers. I used to have one of the early leatherman knives but lost it while travelling the world and have owned many multi tools and knives since but none have been quite so well built or long lasting as my old leatherman.
Likewise the LED flashlite would be very useful when finding lost airsoft gun mag’s at night and for night urban games.

My last leatherman tool was confiscated at an airport a couple years ago. It was the tiny little Micra tool on my keychain so I didn’t even think about removing it before I went to the airport. Doh! I miss my Leatherman!!!

I spread the word on twitter and facebook! I don’t have a leatherman, but have always wanted one. I’d use it to fix stuff on the trail, cook, do first aid and probably a million other tasks. I had another multi tool but it got dropped in a deep dark well at Ft. McGuillory at Caines Head this summer by my loving son. It was an accident, but still. Next one I get will have a floaty attached!

I spread the word on Twitter. I am a huge fan of Leatherman tools and would love to own one or more of everything in their product line (if only my budget would allow it). I have an original Leatherman with the black finish, a Wave and most recently, a Skeletool. I actually broke the pliers on my original tool working on my ‘76 Ford. When I sent the tool in, they not only fixed the pliers, but replaced the knife blade & philips screwdriver because both had been improved since mine was sold. Leatherman is the picture of what customer-focus really means.
